The first camera I ever picked up was a DSLR, and I had no idea where it would lead. My real interest at the time was fishing, not filmmaking — but by my junior year of high school, I was spending afternoons on the water shooting and editing social content, just me, the camera, and the rod.
That footage became an Instagram account, @Fishingct_, which crossed 8,000 followers within a few months. That early audience is where the editing habit actually took hold — learning pacing, hooks, and structure by testing them in public, one post at a time.
The work has since moved from fishing reels to broadcast packages and brand content, but the instinct hasn't changed: know when a cut should breathe, and when it should hit.
